Tuesdays aren't the best day for openings, so that didnt help with my mood. However, heres my take:

In her latest exhibition, Mitsola masterfully intertwines fantasy and reality, drawing inspiration from Nabokov’s "Villa Venus." Her protagonists, draped in vivid, unadulterated color and thick impasto, inhabit palatial, stage-like spaces that challenge viewers to question their own gaze and the nature of these encounters. Mitsola's paintings serve as opulent temples of fantasy, juxtaposing liberation and constraint. The recurring rose motif subtly nods to authenticity amidst artifice, creating a mesmerizing exploration of autonomy, artifice, and utopian ideals. This exhibition offers a profound meditation on the seductive allure of constructed realities.

Have we seen this before? Yes. Is it still engaging? Yes. Will we see this continue? I think its time has passed although I've been wrong a few times.
